Thirty-one staff of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines nationwide were honored in the National Staff Awards held on January 29, 2014 at the Girl Scouts of the Philippines-National Headquarters, Manila.
There were eight five-year service awardees, seven for 15-year service, eight for 20-year service, six for 25-year service, one for 35-year service and one for 40-year service.
Emma Pe Benito, Assets Custodian in the National Equipment Service (NES) of the Eastern Mindanao Regional Office who was hired in 1973, received a Silver Service Medallion and Plaque of Recognition for her 40 years of service.
Lydia Caraan, Technical Assistant I at the Helena Z Benitez National Program and TrainingCenter was awarded with Bronze Service medallion and Plaque of Recognition for her 35 years of service.
Bronze service pins and certificates were given to the five-year service awardees; gold service pins and certificates for the 15-year service awardees; bronze service medals and plaques of merit for 20-year service awardees, and silver service medals and plaques of merit for the 25-year service awardees.
Emma said on her speech that the smiles and laughter of her colleagues made her heart younger every day.
Ma. Dolores Santiago, GSP National Executive Director said that there is no dull moment in GSP and that no task is really small when it comes to the achieving of the goals of the organization.
Salud Bagalso, M.D., GSP National President gave her message to the awardees in Filipino, saying:
“Natitiyak kong hindi lang salapi ang nag-udyok sa inyo upang manatili dito, kung hindi, at lalong higit pa, ang masayang pagsasamahan at masusing pagtutulungan sa pagitan ninyo at ng mga volunteers.”
