The Family Getaway Camp held on 7 to 9 February 2014, at the Ating Tahanan National Program and Training Center in Baguio City, Philippines, saw 25 Girl Scout families or 107 participants from Northern Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Western Mindanao regions in the Philippines having fun and excitement for three days.
The event provided a wonderful way for families to spend time together and to grow together in ways not possible elsewhere. GSP Camp Staff prepared activities that promoted appreciation of nature and environmental awareness for moms, dads, kids, and grandparents.
Activities included an acquaintance campfire, scrapbook making, the family tree game, and a breakfast hunt. The families also went on a Hike Out to Botanical Garden, a trip to Burnham Park, a family night, and enjoyed thrilling games that highlighted GSP’s Eight-Point Challenge.
Ilocos Norte-Laoag Girl Scout Council had the most number of delegates with 17 families from Kids Kollege Inc.
Esteria Alvarado, Ating Tahanan NPTC Director, and Ginnie Oribiana, Program Director, managed and guided the GSP Family Getaway Camp.
