“The Future Is Now!” was the theme of the National Meeting of Council Presidents and Council Executives of GSP, held on February 26 to March 1, 2014, at the Ating Tahanan National Program and Training Center in Baguio City, Philippines.
All the Girl Scout councils throughout the country were represented at the national meeting, which concretized GSP’s vision that the future of Girl Scouting in the Philippines begins now.
Keynote Speaker at the Opening Ceremony was Dr. Maria Rosario Lapuz, President of Miriam College, the country’s premier school for girls. In her speech, she noted the congruence of vision, mission, and objectives of Miriam College and the GSP, where the development and importance of girls and young women are emphasized and given utmost attention.
The GSP National President and Officers presented a Midterm review, handled the plenary sessions, and facilitated the workshops.
Workshop topics included an in-depth discussion by region on the People, Resources, Institutions, the Society, and the Meanings that affect GSP (PRISM); the Five Forces Model; Team Roles and Responsibilities in the Council; The Art of Principled Leadership; Responsible Stewardship; and Ways to Transform GSP.
A Thinking Day Ceremony was celebrated on the first night, where everyone wore international costumes and donated to the Thinking Day Fund.
