Disney Channel Gives the Isabella Award to 48 Junior GSP

The Phineas and Ferb Isabella Award Ceremony held on March 21, 2014, saw 48 Junior Girl Scouts from all over the country receiving the Isabella Award at the GSP Josefa Llanes Escoda Hall, Manila, Philippines.

The Isabella Award is named after Disney Channel’s character Isabella from the animated television show “Phineas and Ferb”. Isabella Garcia-Shapiro is a Girl Scout who leads Fireside Girl Scout Troop 46231. She always finds innovative ways to help her friends, Phineas and Ferb, in their adventures. She has a positive and charming personality, which are the characteristics of Junior Girl Scouts.

Junior Girl Scout Pia Therese Paat, Isabella Awardee from Cagayan GS Council, explained, “Like Isabella, every girl should live a life of helping others, should start sharing herself selflessly and should gracefully metamorphose into a beautiful butterfly. As a Girl Scout, she should develop into a God-fearing lady, should commit herself to abide the Girl Scout Law, and maintain a simple yet extraordinary Girl Scout life in making a great difference in this world.”

Disney Channel bestows this award to Girl Scouts and Girl Guides throughout Asia. In 2012, the Isabella Award was received by selected Girl Guides from Singapore and Malaysia.

As a pilot project in the Philippines, Junior Girl Scout Awardees were given special badges, certificates, and Disney’s premium items. They will also be part of the exclusive roster of Isabella Awardees in Asia.

Vic Cabrera, Walt Disney Studios Philippines’ Managing Director, introduced the Isabella Awards and acknowledged GSP as a partner.

GSP National President Salud Bagalso, M.D., expressed her gratitude to the Walt Disney Studios, and its agency, the Full Circle Communication Inc. She also congratulated the awardees and she said that she hopes they will continue Isabella’s passion to help, serve, and bring happiness to others.
