The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) conferred the 9th Pilar Hidalgo-Lim (PHL) Troop Achievement Award to 10 councils at a fitting ceremony held on May 23, 2014, at the Museo Pambata, Manila.

The PHL Troop Achievement Award encourages Girl Scout troops to be proactive in community development projects. It enables girls to develop their leadership skills and their ability to work with others. During the conceptualization of the project, the girls learn to evaluate the situation in their communities and identify priority needs that they can help improve.

The Troop Leader of Junior Girl Scout Troop 228 from Davao del Norte Council, Eastern Mindanao Region, said this upon receiving the First Place among all entries: “This award is for our Girl Scouts who have been the source of our inspiration and to the people of Sta.
