The Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP) conducted its annual event “A Day with the Girl Scouts with Special Needs” on Museo Pambata, Manila on July 25, 2014. This is in celebration of the 36th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week.
151 Girl Scouts from different councils gathered to celebrate and honor their co-Girl Scouts with special needs.
The Girl Scouts played together for Treasure Hunts which have five stations located inside the vicinity of the museum and made rainbow loombands. There were also special numbers featuring the talents of the Girl Scouts with special needs like dancing and singing.
Gespie, the official mascot of GSP together with Jollibee showed up in the event to give joy to the Girl Scouts. They both performed special dance numbers.
“Sila (the Girl Scouts with special needs) ay magandang huwaran at halimbawa ng paninindigan dahil hindi kayang baliin ng kanilang kapansanan ang paninindigang gumawa ng tama at mabuti para sa sarili, sa kapwa at sa bayan,” GSP National President Dr. Salud Bagalso said in her greetings.
The event ended with the distribution of badges and certificates of participation and appreciation.
