Senator Grace Poe will be the Guest of Honor and Speaker at the Chief Girl Scout Medal Presentation Ceremony on Tuesday, November 18, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Plenary Hall of the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC), CCP Complex, Pasay City.
Senator Poe will speak before 606 Girl Scout Medalists coming from all over the country who will receive the highest award GSP grants to a Senior or Cadet Girl Scout.
The Girl Scout receives the award upon her completion of a one-year community transformation project in any of the following areas: Ecology, Health, Livelihood, and Cultural Heritage.
The Chief Girl Scout Medal (CGSM) awardees come from 71 Councils of the six GSP Regions. 196 girls from Northern Luzon, 101 from Central Luzon, 144 from Southern Luzon, 75 from Visayas, 76 from Eastern Mindanao, and 14 from Western Mindanao will receive the CGSM award.
The CGSM Scheme is GSP’s unique approach in molding the character of the Girl Scouts spiritually, mentally, physically, socially and emotionally.
Evaluators who selected the awardees focused not only on the community project but also, and more importantly, on the learning process and personal development of the girl and her transformation as she served her community.
