GIRL SCOUTS TRAIN FOR PREPAREDNESS IN NATIONAL CAMP

Senior and Cadet Girl Scouts from all over the Philippines trained for preparedness and life skills at the national camp. GSP’s Northern Luzon Region and Ilocos Sur Girl Scout Council host the 41st National Camp, from December 1 to 6, 2018, at the Gabriela Silang Girl Scout Camp in Bantay, Ilocos Sur.

With the theme, “Be Prepared: Girl Scouts in Action,” campers from the 96 Councils all over the country  experienced more extensive training activities on disaster preparedness, orienteering, survival skills, body confidence, ceremonies, and campfires.

The Senior and Cadet Troop Leaders acting as chaperones to the girls attended the National Troop Leaders’ Forum, held simultaneously with the national camp, to maximize their stay at the camp.

Ilocos Sur Governor Ryan V. Singson and Bantay Mayor Samuel G.F. Parilla, II, greeted the participants. GSP National President Susan R. Locsin; Northern Luzon Regional Chairperson Atty. Corazon Ruiz-Abad; and Ilocos Sur Girl Scout Council President Dr. Estrella O. Soria welcomed the campers.

Former Northern Luzon Girl Representative to the Central Board Rachel Megan R. Aglaua, now an instructor with La Salle Greenhills, inspired the girls with her message.
