Three videos by the Girl Scouts from Luzon and Eastern Mindanao Regions won awards during the National Council for Children’s Television 5th CinePambata Video Festival in Amateur Division-Public Service Announcement Category on October 26, 3013 at SM Megamall, Mandaluyong City.

“Bog” won the Best Video Award and Best Script Award. “Timba” was awarded Best Direction while “Unplug” emerged as the Kids’ Choice Award and Special Jury Prize Award.

Other finalists were Puno ng Pagbabago from Luzon Region, Ang Plantsa at ang Tatlong Maria from Visayas Region, and H20 from Western Mindanao Region.

Dr. Cristina Yuson, 1st National Vice President of the Girl Scouts of the Philippines (GSP); Myra Contessa Diokno-Sarmenta, Assistant National Director; Ginnie Oribiana, Program Director, and GSP professional staff were present during the festival.

Lorelen Bie, Council Executive of Pasig, and some troop leaders were present to lend their support. Junior, Senior, and Cadet Girl Scouts from Pasig and Manila Councils also attended the NCCT Video Festival.

The NCCT Video Festival aims to present local short videos that are child-friendly and child-focused and to educate participants about the rights of the child. It also provides an avenue for children in showcasing their talents in video production.
