
The GSP thru the Josefa Llanes Escoda Memento Fund Committee held an Escoda Ilocano Food Festival and Exhibit to commemorate the 115th birth anniversary of its founder on September 20, 2013 at the GSP National Headquarters, Ermita, Manila.
A fund-raising activity, the festival was an awareness campaign on the life, traits and legacy of Josefa Llanes Escoda who was born in Dingras, Ilocos, Norte. The GSP Northern Luzon and Ilocos Norte Girl Scouts showcased the culture of Ilocos Norte by featuring Ilocano songs and dances, cooking demonstration of some Ilocano favorite dishes, and products from the province.
Proceeds of sales and donations will go to the travel grants of Girl Scouts who represent the GSP in international events.
The much-awaited corporate audio visual presentations of the GSP on how the organization was founded by JLE and how it shaped the future of girls and young women in the country was launched after the opening ceremonies.
