GSP and Friends Foundation, Inc.

The Girl Scouts of the Philippines and Friends Foundation, Inc. (GSPFFI) is a non-stock, non-profit organization created under the law of the Republic of the Philippines to ensure the sustainability of the Girl Scouting Movement in the Philippines and to provide continuous leadership training and opportunities for higher education to deserving Girl Scouts.

The GSPFFI was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission under SEC Reg. No. A200103000 on March 23, 2001, and shall exist for fifty (50) years from and after the date of issuance of the Certificate of Incorporation.

As early as 1990, then National President Dr. Milagros Araneta-Villasor (1987-1994), inspired by the GSP golden jubilee, formed a group among her friends and called it the Golden Friends Society.  She encouraged the members to contribute PHP50,000.00 each and was able to raise an initial amount of PHP355,000.00.  She wanted to support the GSP Program for the development of girls from age 4 to 18.

In 1999, the idea of creating a GSP Foundation was brought to the GSP Executive Committee which approved it for implementation; thus, the GSP and Friends Foundation, Inc. was born and registered on March 23, 2001, with the following Incorporators who contributed PHP5,000.00 each, namely:  Dr. Salud A. Bagalso, Mrs. Divina A. Bautista, Hon. Helena Z Benitez, Mrs. Teresita B. Choa, Dr. AmelitaDayrit-Go, Mrs. Yolanda C. Hernandez, Atty. Pilipina Arenas-Laborte, Hon. Estefania Aldaba-Lim (+), Atty. Susan N. Delos Reyes, Mrs. Nona S. Ricafort, Atty.Felicidad C. Santos, Miss R Lauaan V. Tamesis, Mrs. Esther A. Vibal,  Mrs. Milagros Araneta-Villasor and Mrs. Cynthia P. Zagala (+).

On September 5, 2014, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) approved and recognized the GSP and Friends Foundation, Inc. as one of its Resource Agents under Registration No. DSWD-SB R-000151-2014.
