The Girl Scouts of the Philippines hold its 37th National Encampment on April 20-26, 2013at the GSP Belen Regional Program and Training Center in Brgy. Masin, Candelaria, Quezon.
This year’s encampment theme was “Girl Scouts Take Action” where the campers learned self-defense using Karatedo and experienced outdoor challenges such as rope course, rappelling and slide for life.
Campers learned livelihood programs like belt making and banana chips making.
The campers participated in a poster and slogan making contest where they interpreted the encampment theme.
They also shopped at a Market Market Day where they were allowed to buy souvenir items.
Highlight of the camp was an adventure trip to Villa Escudero where campers enjoyed the museum tour, carabao cart rides, bamboo rafting, swimming and lunch at Waterfalls Pavilion.
Eight Senior and Cadet Girl Scouts per council from the 96 Councils of the GSP from all over the Philippines participated in the encampment.
The campers were accompanied by their troop leaders who also participated in the “National Award Leader Training.”
